Trending Toward Indifference
At first the color caught my eye;
A flock of birds gone swimming by.
Brightly blasted with a corner gray,
A rounded top split hairs with hay.
Thirteen weeks became irrelevant,
While trending toward indifference.
Curmudgeon clawing its way back,
Melted chocolate, a spoiled snack.
Spending time with colored glasses,
Knowing not which way it passes.
