Part XXII:
In any system where cause can not be easily determined, the mind is left to attribute its own systematic rules on things. Thus, Harjen not only thought that he was on the verge of some miraculous discovery, but he had begun to plan out the many ways he could make his own life better and potentially profit from his discovery.
Had it mattered to Harjen at the time that he was explicitly warned never to reveal the secrets of the cavern, things may have progressed differently. In fact, the greed and excitement began to bubble underneath the surface. Like a volcano ready to explode, delusions of grandeur were beginning to take hold of his conscious thought.
“What if I can bottle this element and take it up with me?” Harjen began to wonder to himself. “Surely, many of the sick and elderly would give almost anything to live just one more day! Damn it all if I can’t bring this gift to the world!”
