Part XXX:
The search for the treasure began innocently, at least in Harjen’s case it did. Others before him were encumbered by their own vision of limitless wealth that they did not last long on their respective missions. Harjen, fortunately, was different. The secret had managed to remain hidden for several hundred years.
Frantically piecing together the various clues assembled around the lair, Harjen managed to uncover different geographical hints that led him back above ground to the stream. The sound of running water helped him think, of that he always noticed. Perhaps the soothing sound, or even the elemental ability of anything aqueous to pacify his senses convinced him that he was on the right track.
Harjen knelt down on the bank of the stream, placing the two buckets he had been using to collect fresh water down below the surface. One quick scoop and the buckets were quickly replenished. Pausing a moment, he noticed something sparkling down below the water, which extended for several feet.
