If you are asking yourself “to the center of what?” then you are missing the point. The journey to the center of the Earth, as fruitless as the mission may seem, did manage to at least pass muster. Harjen’s journey was incomplete until the moment that he walked toward the center of his lair, key in hand, only to have the key literally RIPPED out of his hand. After he felt the metal object sucked from the grasp of his intimate touch, he watched it proceed to lodge itself squarely in a magnetic lock.
It was as if the key and lock’s only purpose for existence was to conjoin with each other. The final product of this marriage was nothing less than a sight to behold. When it happened, spontaneously, in front of Harjen, his jaw dropped straight down. This left his mouth so wide open that a small bird could have quickly flown in and tried to nest.
The end result of the key finding its way into the lock created a numbing sensation that spread throughout Harjen’s interior. Had he known what he was about to behold, he would have most likely sent himself back in time to remind himself to pay attention. The first impression he had of the giant cavern that wholly dwarfed the cavern he was in was simply awe.
