Is it possible to do anything at all with completely pure intentions? If Heisenberg had anything to say about it, then the fact that we should even have to ask ourselves the question proves that it is impossible. Fine are the lines that are drawn between illusion and reality, lest we give another the ammunition to hold our own indiscretions against us. Truth is a two-way street, but blackmail is the roadblock that keeps us from smoothly reaching our destination.
A wise philosopher once said that one who stares in the face of envy only finds solace in gluttony. Fortunately for Harjen, his stomach had shrunk to about the size of a pea. Were he to attempt to consume a bacon double cheeseburger (Is there a more gluttonous treat?), it would surely have sent his senses reeling and greasy fat spewing out of his stomach and throughout his inner abdomen.
Trying to keep his thoughts in order, Harjen thought back to his first discoveries of the symbols scattered throughout the inner cave. In lieu of telling any sort of story, all they seemed to do was to provide him with a sense of direction. When properly aligned, or so he thought, all of the symbols pointed directly to the center.
