The tension in his muscles was mounting to the point that it was almost unbearable. He attempted to walk gingerly across the concrete, in order to avoid making too much noise, although he was sure he must be on video somewhere. He assumed, however, that Cliff was able to hijack the system so he wouldn’t be seen. This is exactly how we build such foolish “straw man” arguments within our own minds that inevitably end up collapsing and being our downfall.
As he reached the end of the hallway, the brick wall was within reach of his outstretched hand. Just a moment ago, he could have sworn he heard a small click and the sound of a quiet bell sounding in the distance. He attempted to move this thought out of his mind and go about his business, but it still remained there, under the surface.
He had just finished placing the last of the four bombs on the brick wall when, suddenly, all the lights in the hallway flashed on, almost blinding him. Through the spots, he could see four men, dressed in black S.W.A.T. team uniforms standing on all sides of him, with their rifles pointed at all different parts of him.
“Put your hands up and don’t move,” one of the men shouted, from behind his plastic face mask.
