Into the Eye of Darkness

Into the Eye of Darkness

Look straight into my face;
Past the daffodils and weeds.

You think you know what
Brought me to this place.

I would gladly toss the reins
Your way, if you’d bear it.

Cry in the face of love,
Shame on those like you before.

If words could spell desire,
Denied in the face of pleasure.

A mission lost and incomplete.
Searching for any ear to lend.

Scratch my eyes out whole;
Call me selfish, I don’t care.

A land lost in a joke of despair,
Blackmail never leads anywhere.
